Cayuga County New York is Hiring an Early Intervention Service Coordinator Near Auburn, NY

IMPORTANT: This will be a PROVISIONAL civil service appointment. Candidate will be required to take the civil service exam when it is scheduled in the future. Permanent appointment will be dependent upon candidate's exam score.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: as per NYS Bureau of Early Intervention Services

NYSPHL Art. 25 Title II-A Subpart 69-4.5 Approval of Service Coordinators
Early Intervention Service Coordinators shall meet the following qualifications:
  • Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college or university with a Bachelor's Degree in a health or human services field*; OR
  • Graduation from a regionally accredited or NYS registered college with an Associate's Degree in a health or human services field AND one (1) year of service coordination activities as delineated in this document (voluntary or part-time experience which can be verified will be accepted on a pro-rata basis); OR
  • Two (2) years of experience in service coordination activities as delineated in this document (voluntary or part-time experience which can be verified will be accepted on a pro-rata basis); OR
  • One (1) year of experience in service coordination activities as delineated in this document (voluntary or part-time experience which can be verified will be accepted on a pro-rata basis) and an additional one (1) year of experience e in a service setting with infants and toddlers with developmental delays or disabilities. 
*Note: A degree in a "human services field" includes but may not be limited to, social work, psychology, nursing, rehabilitation, special education, occupational, speech or physical therapy, and community mental health.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
  • At time of appointment and continuing throughout the appointment a candidate/incumbent must possess a valid NYS Driver's license and driving record acceptable to the County's insurance carrier.
DISTINGUISHING FEATURES OF THE CLASS: This position is in the Children with Special Needs Division of the Cayuga County Public Health Department. An employee in this class is responsible for coordinating the delivery of early intervention services. The incumbent ensures that infants and toddlers ages zero to three (0-3) with developmental delays or disabilities and their families receive services commensurate with their needs to the extent such services are available. The Early Intervention Services Coordinator (EISC) provides case management services, develops Individualized Family Service Plans and serves as a single point of contact for enrolled families. The EISC helpscoordinate these services across agency and discipline lines. Work is performed under the direction of the Coordinator of Children with Special Health Care Needs Program with considerable leeway allowed for the exercise of independent judgment in carrying out the details of the work. Supervision of others is not a responsibility of an employee in this class. Does related work as required.
MINIMUM STARTING SALARY: $51,509 (2024 CSEA Grade 18)
